Bullets, Bad Guys, Fire & Brimstone:  A Look at Risk in a Changing World

Presented by Michael Owen

Terrorism, active shooters, civil unrest and weather-related catastrophes are some of the disruptive forces that could impact the safety and security of your event participants and hotel or venue guests.  We can't prevent every risk scenario, but shouldn't we prepare for threats even as we hope they never occur?

Comprehensive safety planning must be a collaboration between the venue and the event planner.  Most hotels and venues have safety and security plans in place, but where and how does the event planner engage in the plan?

This session guides event planners and their suppliers through the process of creating a customized disaster action plan so they can ensure maximum safety for their event participants.

Learner Objectives:

1.) Comprehend the magnitude of event participant safety issues.

2.)  Collaborate with partners and suppliers to customize safety tips for your events.

3.) Acquire best practices for dissemination of vital safety information to all participants.
